Job Opportunity: MRI Tech
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Role: Mobile MRI Technologist
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (6:00 PM – 7:30 AM), Friday through Sunday
- Holiday work required if it falls on scheduled shift
- No on-call required
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected
- Daily caseload varies depending on shift and location
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist within the last year
- Certification: ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Experience with Siemens MRI equipment required
Licensure
- SC MRI Technologists are not required to have a South Carolina Radiology license
- Must have active, unencumbered licensure appropriate for MRI Technologist
Facility Highlights
- Teaching hospital with Magnet status and Level 1 Trauma designation
- Uses Epic for charting
- Parking available with nominal cost for nights and weekends
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Proof of work eligibility (I-9 attestation and documentation)
- Copy of Driver’s License/State ID and Social Security Card
- Background check covering last 7 years of residence/employment, including national and state registries
- Education verification or diploma/transcripts as placeholder
- Annual drug screening (10-panel) within 90 days of start
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days) or chest X-ray if prior positive
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/booster documentation
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands, updated annually
- Color blind testing prior to start
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required
- Facility-specific orientation modules and first day instructions must be completed before start
- Passport-style photo for badge required before start
Additional Notes
- Radius rule: 60 miles
- Locals may be accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references required
- Employment history verification of last 3 clinical employers required
This position is suitable for MRI Technologists with Siemens experience seeking a travel contract in a teaching hospital environment with trauma designation. Candidates should be prepared for night/weekend shifts and have all required certifications and health documentation current prior to start.
