Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech Maternal Fetal

Location: Burlington, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 5x8 shifts
• Start Date: May 25th or later (no earlier start dates accommodated)
• Daily caseload: 8-10 ultrasounds in one ultrasound room
• Focus on high-risk and low-risk OB, viability, anatomy, growth, including multiple gestation
• GYN basic abdominal and transvaginal scans
• Outpatient experience required
• Experience with GE ultrasound equipment required
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required
• Scrubs: Any color allowed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography license in North Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Tech in Maternal-Fetal / OB-GYN specialty, with experience within the last year
• Experience in an outpatient setting
• Experience with GE Healthcare ultrasound equipment
• Experience with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
• Experience with high-risk obstetrics
• Ultrasound experience with viability, fetal anatomy, fetal growth, and multiple gestation
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Social Security Card required for badge issuance
• Background check within 60 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
• Education verification required, including foreign equivalency evaluation if education was obtained outside the U.S.
• Transcript or diploma may be required for verification
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
• Fit mask test (N95) completed within the current calendar year, updated annually (not required for all positions)
• Physical exam may be required depending on agency policies

Testing and Competency Exams

• Pass/Fail EKG/Dysrhythmia exam required (2 attempts allowed)
• EPIC test required with passing score (2 attempts allowed, additional attempts may be approved onsite)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
• Color vision testing required
• Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal

References and Work History

• Two supervisory references required for clinical positions (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
• Employment application/resume with 7 years of work history required
• Verification of all employment within the last 5 years required

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete a health history form and upload prior to clearance
• Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies including floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgment
• Badge photo must meet strict requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
• Orientation and onboarding tasks must be completed prior to start date
