Description

Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Family Services
Number of Beds: 19
Patient Ratios:
- Labor & Delivery (L&D): 1-2:1
- Postpartum (PP): 3:1
- Gynecology/Pediatrics: 3-4:1
Staffing: Nurses, Unit Coordinators, Manager, Director
Equipment: EFM, beds, pumps, etc.
Documentation System: Meditech Expanse and CPN Connect
Scheduling: 3 shifts of 12 hours each
Floating Policy: Float to other units as helping hands, sitter, or virtual support
Dress Code: Unit scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience, including experience within the last year
Postpartum (PP) experience
LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) experience
Nursery/NICU experience
Experience with obstetric procedures including versions, circumcisions, and cesarean sections (C-sections)
Certifications required:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Continuous Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Skills and Experience

Must have Labor & Delivery and Postpartum experience
Requested skill set includes LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
Nursery/NICU experience is a plus
Advanced skills and procedures performed on unit include:
- Versions
- Circumcisions
- Cesarean sections (C-sections)
