Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Location: Kingman, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Orientation: Every Monday
• Charting system: Meditech (preferred experience, but not required)
• Scheduling: Blocked scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Float: May be required to float to other Medical Surgical units
• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
• Patient ratio: 1:5-6
• Telemetry experience required due to potential for remote Telemetry monitoring

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

Certifications (as applicable)

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government issued photo ID required
• Background check: 7-year search within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Education verification: Transcript or diploma required (or acceptable verification)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• Two professional references within 3 years
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Additional Notes

• Float to other Medical Surgical units may be required
• Blocked scheduling is not guaranteed
• Locals and first-time travelers are accepted at the same rate
• Must be able to work every other weekend
