Job Opportunity: Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Location: Maryville, Illinois

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Cardiac Cath Lab specialty to work in a 7-bed unit. This role requires circulation, conscious sedation, and telemetry experience. Meditech charting experience is preferred, with training available during orientation.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience
• First-time Cath Lab travelers not accepted

Schedule & Hours

• Weekend requirement: 1 call weekend every 3 weeks (Friday 5:30 PM to Monday 7:00 AM)
• On-call requirement: 1 call day per week (5:30 PM to 7:00 AM) plus the weekend call above
• Guaranteed hours:

  • 36 hours for 3 shifts of 12 hours
  • 48 hours for 4 shifts of 12 hours
  • 40 hours for shifts less than 12 hours
• Floating within scope of practice may be required
• Block scheduling accommodations determined by unit needs

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Special Requirements

• Circulate, Conscious Sedation, and Telemetry experience required
• Meditech experience preferred (training provided if needed)

Additional Information

• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Pending licenses not accepted
• No time off requests (RTO) within the first week of assignment
• Maximum 10 days of RTO allowed per assignment
• Only one holiday off request allowed (not guaranteed)

Pre-Employment & Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID
• Background checks including county, nationwide, sex offender, and education verification
• Illinois Adult Abuse Registry Search (can pend at start)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing within 12 months
• Immunizations and titers as applicable (Tdap, TB test or chest X-ray, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella)
• 9-panel drug screen within 1 year
• Pass/fail medication and glucose meter competency exam during orientation (two attempts allowed)
• Employment application and resume required
• 7 years of work history verification
• 2 professional references within 2 years

Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Conscious Sedation experience
• Telemetry experience
• ACLS issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS issued by the American Heart Association

• Flu vaccination is strongly recommended but not required
• COVID-19 medical and religious exemptions allowed with proper documentation
