Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Job Description
Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for Respiratory Services in a Level 3 NICU/Pediatric unit. CRTs are not acceptable. Must have a North Carolina Respiratory Therapist license in hand prior to submission.
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Respiratory Services NICU/Pediatrics
- Beds:
- NICU: 51 beds (Level 3)
- PICU: 10 beds
- Pediatric floor: 20 beds
- Staffing:
- 17 NICU/Peds RRTs (120 total staff)
- Day Shift: 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds
- Night Shift: 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds
- Patient Ratios: 10 - 25 patients per therapist
- Equipment Used:
- Draeger Infant/Peds ventilators
- HFOV (High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation)
- Infant Flow SiPAP
- Newport HT70 and Hamilton T1 and C1 transport ventilators
- Vapotherm
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner
Typical Procedures
- High-risk deliveries
- Airway and ventilator management
- Intubation and extubation
- Capillary and arterial blood gas collection and analysis
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential with NBRC certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory Therapy, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification
Work Schedule & Environment
- Varying weekends required (at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
- Scrub color: Medium Gray/Pewter
- Floating to general adult medical floors may be required
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced NICU/Pediatric respiratory environment with advanced ventilator equipment.
This position is ideal for experienced RRTs with pediatric and neonatal respiratory care skills looking for a travel assignment in North Carolina.
