Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a busy respiratory services department. The unit supports adult and pediatric/neonatal intensive care patients with a variety of advanced respiratory equipment and technology.


Unit Information

  • Number of Beds: 854
  • Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 15-20 RRTs for adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds
    • Night Shift: 12-16 RRTs for adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds
  • Patient Ratios: 10-25 patients per therapist
  • Equipment Used:
    • GE R860 Adult ventilators
    • Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
    • Newport HT70 transport ventilator
    • V60 Non-invasive device
    • Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner
  • Floating Areas: All critical care units and floors
  • Dress Code: Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs
  • Schedule: Varying weekends, with at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, NBRC

Additional Information

  • Candidates without the required skills and certifications will not be considered.
  • The role involves working in a high-acuity environment including adult critical care and neonatal/pediatric units.
  • The unit is equipped with advanced respiratory technology and supports a variety of patient populations including trauma, stroke, neonatal intensive care, and pediatric subspecialties.

This position does not specify a requirement for prior travel experience.
