Registered Nurse – Med Surg
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: General Medicine (Medical-Surgical)
- Shift: PM
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed (can be cancelled up to 3 times per contract)
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Number of Openings: 1
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Unit Beds: 24
- Float Requirements: May float to other units within the acute care division
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alabama
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA)
- Proficiency with Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
Work Environment & Culture
- Patient population: General Medicine
- Professional, adaptable, patient-centered, and committed to processes
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs; fingernails must comply with TJC and CMS guidelines; shoes must be close-toed with backs
Additional Notes
- No prior travel experience required
- No call responsibilities
- Position may be cancelled up to 3 times during the contract period
