Registered Nurse – Med Surg

Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Specialty: General Medicine (Medical-Surgical)
Shift: PM
Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed (can be cancelled up to 3 times per contract)
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
Call Requirements: None
Number of Openings: 1
Patient Ratio: 1:6
Unit Beds: 24
Float Requirements: May float to other units within the acute care division
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner

Required Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support)
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in Alabama
Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA)
Proficiency with Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

Work Environment & Culture

Patient population: General Medicine
Professional, adaptable, patient-centered, and committed to processes
Dress code: Navy blue scrubs; fingernails must comply with TJC and CMS guidelines; shoes must be close-toed with backs

No call responsibilities
Position may be cancelled up to 3 times during the contract period
