Registered Nurse - OR

Location: Devils Lake, North Dakota
Employment Type: Long Term
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care following established policies and protocols. The nurse maintains skills appropriate to the patient population served in the operating room (OR) and collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care and provide education for safe discharge.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily patient rounds to ensure quality care and address any unmet needs.
• Develop individualized care plans based on comprehensive patient assessments, considering physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental, and rehabilitative needs.
• Assess patient conditions, set goals, and implement nursing actions to meet patient needs, including discharge planning.
• Promptly assess and manage patient pain according to standard procedures.
• Recognize early signs of patient condition changes and respond appropriately, including emergency interventions when necessary.
• Communicate observations and patient reactions accurately to the care team and complete required incident reports.
• Provide patient and family education and counseling to support understanding and discharge readiness.
• Delegate nursing interventions safely within scope of practice and competence.
• Perform other duties as needed to support department and organizational goals.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Dakota
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
