Registered Nurse - Medical Unit (Night Shift)

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Night shift position, scheduled 36 hours per week after the first full week of orientation.
• Must be flexible to work various shift lengths and days. No guarantee of hours or shift preference.
• General nursing duties on a medical unit.
• Equipment used includes Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.
• May float to other units such as Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6 for day and evening shifts, 1:8 for night shifts.
• Professional nursing attire required.
• Orientation and department-specific training provided.
• Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday.

Required Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment.
• 2 to 10 years of nursing experience required (use the higher value if uncertain).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Proof of flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to contract start.

Additional Information

• Must be able to attend employee health clearance appointment prior to contract start.
• Flexibility in shift scheduling is essential.
