General Imaging Technologist (Radiology) - Contract Position

Location

  • Milwaukee, WI

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Unit Information

  • Diagnostic imaging unit with:
    • 5 diagnostic rooms
    • 2 fluoroscopy rooms
    • 1 video swallow room
    • Clinic with 2 diagnostic rooms, 3 pain clinic rooms, 1 dental room
  • Average patient volume: 15-20 patients per tech per day

Patient Population

  • Inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, procedural cases
  • All age ranges, with limited pediatric patients

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of acute or surgical imaging experience
  • Preference for technologists with strong surgical and procedural skills
  • First-time travelers may be considered depending on skill level

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • ARRT certification
  • Wisconsin state license
  • BLS certification

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in surgical/procedure imaging and general radiology
  • Experience with portable imaging
  • Comfortable working in mid- to high-level hospital settings
  • Fluoroscopy experience including ERCPs, bronchoscopies, pain clinic procedures, and urology cases
  • Operating room experience with orthopedic, general, and spine cases preferred
  • Familiarity with O-arm imaging equipment is a plus

Department Support

  • Lead technologist on first shift
  • Radiologist available on-site 24/7
  • Staffing: 14 techs on days, 7 on second shift, 3 on third shift
  • Respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist support available 24/7

Technology and Equipment

  • EMR system: EPIC
  • X-ray equipment brands: GE, Fuji, Del Medical
  • PACS: McKesson
  • C-arm models: GE 9900, Elites, Medtronic O-arms

Orientation

  • Neonatal orientation provided
  • 7-day orientation period in the department

Scheduling

  • Weekend rotation: every other weekend
  • On-call schedule: one call shift per week (three shifts covering 06:30-22:30 and overnight)
  • Holiday expectation: one holiday per contract
  • Shift times vary with some flexibility (typically 1-1.5 hours difference in start times)
  • Schedule cycle: Monday-Friday plus every other weekend; includes days off before and after weekend shifts
