Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER
Location: Weston, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with Emergency Room (ER) specialty for a travel contract position. First-time travelers are accepted. The role requires flexibility to float within scope as needed and weekend shifts on an as-needed basis.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Florida
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Schedule & Hours
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12-hour shifts or 40 hours for 8/10-hour shifts
- No on-call requirement
- Block scheduling not accommodated
- Locals accepted at same rate
Licensure
- Active RN license in Florida required (pending licenses not accepted)
Additional Requirements
- Must be nicotine-free (smoke-free facility)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine (cotinine) required
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront with application
- Must complete all required onboarding modules prior to start
- Physical exam within 6 months of start required
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history and federal exclusions required
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
Onboarding & Compliance
- Must complete online training modules before start date (cannot be completed on mobile devices)
- Pass/fail testing on EKG and medication administered during orientation
- Professional references required (2 within last 2 years)
- State and primary source license verifications required within 30 days of start
- Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
Notes
- Candidates must be aware of time-sensitive Epic modules that must be prioritized immediately upon assignment confirmation
- Facility is smoke-free with strict nicotine testing policies
- Fingerprint clearance must be completed and approved before starting; candidates cannot start with fingerprints pending
