Description

Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Huntington, West Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Every other weekend required
  • Patient ratios: 1:4-5
  • Unit cares for all types of cardiac patients including:
    • Pre & post cardiac intervention monitoring (arterial/venous access sites, TR bands)
    • Pre-open heart surgery care
    • Pre & post pacemaker and ICD permanent insertion
    • Congestive heart failure (CHF), stroke patients
    • IV drips including Cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine, NTG, antiarrhythmics, platelet-aggregation inhibitors, anticoagulants
  • Experience required with cardiac telemetry packs and IV pumps (initiation and setup of IV drips)
  • Use of Pyxis, clinical documentation systems, glucometers
  • Navy blue scrubs required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia
  • Minimum of 1 year telemetry experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
