Description

Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Huntington, West Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Every other weekend required
Patient ratios: 1:4-5
Unit cares for all types of cardiac patients including:
- Pre & post cardiac intervention monitoring (arterial/venous access sites, TR bands)
- Pre-open heart surgery care
- Pre & post pacemaker and ICD permanent insertion
- Congestive heart failure (CHF), stroke patients
- IV drips including Cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine, NTG, antiarrhythmics, platelet-aggregation inhibitors, anticoagulants
Experience required with cardiac telemetry packs and IV pumps (initiation and setup of IV drips)
Use of Pyxis, clinical documentation systems, glucometers
Navy blue scrubs required

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia
Minimum of 1 year telemetry experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
