Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience caring for the full lifespan of patients (pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics)
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Active Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT accepted)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Illinois
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Experience with tracheostomies (trachs)
- Experience with nitrous oxide procedures
- Knowledge of proning techniques
- ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) experience
- Experience with ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) including prevention
- Experience conducting spontaneous breathing trials
- Experience performing arterial blood gas (ABG) draws
Patient Population
- Neonates through geriatric respiratory patients
Work Environment & Scheduling
- 1:1 patient ratios
- 12-hour shifts
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
- No on-call duties
- Holiday work based on needs
- Orientation: 1 day on unit
- Potential floating to other hospitals within the local service area
Additional Information
- Scrub color required: Charcoal Gray
- Free parking available
- Plenty of PPE available, including N95 masks
