Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Greensboro, North Carolina
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 26 weeks
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
- Unit: Primarily Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patient population, tele-capable unit
- Additional Duties: May be required to work Charge RN shifts and float across all facilities as needed
Job Description Highlights
- Must pass a mandatory Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding (required for all RNs)
- Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Patient ratio approximately 1:6
- Use of Rapid Response teams
- Responsibilities include blood product administration, peripheral line care management, IV starts, heparin, insulin, PCA management, nasal cannula use, and isolation precautions
- EPIC electronic health record system experience required
- BLS certification required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication)
- State License 1 Verification
- NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID and Social Security card required for badge issuance
- Background check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
- Foreign equivalency evaluation if education was obtained outside the U.S.
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
- Verification of employment history for the last 5 years
- Two supervisory references required from recent assignments
- Completion of facility-specific documents including floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement
- Photo for badge must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual attire)
- Completion of health history form and upload prior to clearance
- Fingerprinting required for certain positions (Home Health and Long-Term Care only)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and able to comply with facility policies
- Travelers are subject to floating across multiple facilities within the health system
- Candidates must be aware of and accept the 26-week contract length (no option for 13 weeks)
- Orientation includes safety manual acknowledgement and pass/fail testing for EPIC and EKG
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams required as applicable
- Color vision testing required unless non-clinical
- References and verifications must be completed prior to or at start of assignment
This position is ideal for experienced RNs comfortable with night shifts, tele-capable MS patient care, and flexible floating assignments within a healthcare system. Compliance with strict credentialing, immunization, and testing requirements is mandatory.
