Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job in Greensboro, North Carolina
Job Details
- Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), every other weekend, holidays as needed
- Float: Required to float across multiple units/facilities as needed
- Patient Population: Primarily Medical-Surgical (MS) with some Telemetry (tele-capable unit)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Medical-Surgical)
- First Time Travelers: Accepted
Job Description
- Care for patients with a variety of conditions including:
- Observation patients
- Respiratory conditions
- General Medical-Surgical diagnoses
- Palliative, End of Life, Hospice care
- Psychiatric Observation
- Diabetes management (including new diabetics and complications)
- Surgical patients and surgical observation
- Use of EPIC electronic health record system
- Previous Charge RN experience preferred
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Medication Administration Badge (MAB)
- Pass/Fail EKG competency exam
- Successful completion of Pass/Fail testing including EKG and Medication/Pharmacology competency exams
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing policies
Important Notes
- The client has a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and able to float as needed
- Pass/Fail EKG exam requires a minimum score of 82% to pass, with up to two attempts allowed
- EPIC test required with a passing score of 80% or higher, with two attempts allowed
- Candidates must submit a professional badge photo meeting strict guidelines (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
- Orientation includes safety manual acknowledgement and other facility-specific acknowledgements
- Annual skills checklist required with a one-week grace period for renewal
Summary
This is a 13-week travel contract RN position in Greensboro, NC, primarily on a Medical-Surgical unit with telemetry capabilities. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, BLS certification, and successful completion of a pass/fail EKG exam. Flexibility for night shifts, floating, and compliance with strict facility requirements is essential. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
