Description

Radiology Tech

Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging examinations.
  • Explain procedures and respond to patient questions.
  • Perform radiological procedures as ordered by physicians.
  • Assist Radiologist and/or Fluoro Tech during fluoroscopic and special procedures.
  • Operate CR, Fluoro, and DR imaging equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Administer IV and oral contrast media as needed and manage contrast reactions.
  • Maintain radiation safety practices consistent with ALARA standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff.
  • Perform clerical duties related to imaging workflow and quality assurance.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a specialized training program in Radiological Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Registered with the ARRT in Radiology.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers, with renewal every two years.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience performing radiological procedures in a hospital, clinic, or physician’s office preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, radiologic equipment, procedures, and safety hazards.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and adjust radiologic equipment as needed.

Additional Information

  • Must demonstrate proper sterile technique when assisting in operating room procedures.
  • Experience with PACS image management and clerical office functions is required.
  • Ability to work evenings as indicated by the original shift title.
