Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Department: Respiratory Services
- Number of Beds: 854
- Number of Staff: 120
- Shifts:
- Day Shift: 15-20 RRTs for Adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Pediatrics
- Night Shift: 12-16 RRTs for Adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Pediatrics
- Patient Ratios: 10 - 25 patients per therapist
- Equipment Used:
- GE R860 Adult ventilators
- Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
- Newport HT70 transport ventilator
- V60 Non-invasive device
- Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Cerner
Job Description
- Provide respiratory therapy services across all critical care units and floors
- Typical procedures involve adult and pediatric respiratory care
- Floating to various critical care areas as needed
- Dress Code: Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs
- Weekend Requirement: At least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, with varying weekends and on-call duties
Required Qualifications
- Current North Carolina Respiratory Therapist (RRT) License
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT
Preferred Qualifications
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Additional Notes
- Candidates without the required skills and certifications will not be considered
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
