Description

Radiation Therapist - Oncology

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 15 weeks


Job Description

  • Independently perform a variety of radiation therapy treatments, simulations, treatment planning, and fabrication of specialized treatment aides according to physician prescriptions and instructions.
  • Provide care tailored to patients' age-specific needs, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles.
  • Proficient operation of Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator and ARIA EMR system.
  • Treat 25-30 patients per day.
  • Treatment modalities include 3D, IMRT, SBRT, and electrons.
  • Set-ups cover all treatment sites in a comprehensive cancer center.
  • May work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in Hawaii.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT (T)).
  • Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible experience as an imaging technologist/specialist with thorough knowledge of imaging procedures and techniques.
  • At least 2 years of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

  • No prior travel experience required.
