Description

Radiation Therapist - Oncology

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 15 weeks

Job Description

Independently perform a variety of radiation therapy treatments, simulations, treatment planning, and fabrication of specialized treatment aides according to physician prescriptions and instructions.
Provide care tailored to patients' age-specific needs, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles.
Proficient operation of Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator and ARIA EMR system.
Treat 25-30 patients per day.
Treatment modalities include 3D, IMRT, SBRT, and electrons.
Set-ups cover all treatment sites in a comprehensive cancer center.
May work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Required Qualifications

Valid Radiation Therapist license in Hawaii.
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT (T)).
Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible experience as an imaging technologist/specialist with thorough knowledge of imaging procedures and techniques.
At least 2 years of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

Additional Information

No prior travel experience required.
