Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics for a travel contract position. The role requires working every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) plus two rotating weekdays. Floating between multiple hospital campuses is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
- Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of experience in the specialty (RRT / Respiratory Therapy), including 18 months recent ICU experience
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Additional Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Must have a background check within 90 days of start, including 7 years of residence/work history, SSN trace, county/state/national checks, and education verification.
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific approved respirators required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Immunizations/vaccinations including:
- Rubeola (Measles) - positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Mumps - positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Rubella - positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Varicella - positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap strongly recommended
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season
- Competency Exams:
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (not required for techs or RRTs)
- Unit competency exam
- Color blind testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent)
- References:
- Minimum of 2 references from recent employment verified within 2 years
- Application:
- Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps of 30 days or more
- Skills Checklist:
- Must be completed within 12 months and updated annually
Orientation and Training
- Completion of mandatory Respiratory Therapist modules prior to orientation is required.
- HIPAA and safety acknowledgements must be completed.
Notes
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Indiana RN license holders are restricted from working at these facilities effective 11/30/24, with some exceptions (does not apply to Respiratory Therapists).
- On-site fit testing is available only as a last resort and not at all campuses.
- Candidates must provide written confirmation of comfort with the every other weekend shift requirement before submission.
