Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Stepdown Neuro

Location: Cleveland, Ohio

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a Stepdown Neuro unit on day shift (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM).
• Must have at least 18 months of permanent experience in Neuro Stepdown or related specialty prior to travel assignments. Travel experience in Neuro Stepdown is acceptable.
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Progressive Care experience is preferred but not required.
• Must work at least every other holiday.
• Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety testing; passing scores are required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum 18 months of permanent Neuro Stepdown nursing experience in the specialty being applied for, prior to travel assignments
• Minimum 18 months of recent Neuro Stepdown experience within the last year
• Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience totaling at least 1.5 years
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of permanent Neuro Stepdown nursing experience required prior to travel assignments.
• Travel experience in Neuro Stepdown will satisfy experience requirement.

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried while on assignment.
• Background checks including fingerprinting (BCI and FBI) must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing and updated annually.
• Candidates must complete all required onboarding modules prior to start.
• Two professional references required from employment within the past year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director).
• Employment application must include at least 3 years of prior work history with 2 years in acute care and similar specialty.
• Candidates must be able to complete all required training and competency exams.

Important Notes

• Candidates must be prepared to complete fingerprinting at the facility in addition to agency fingerprinting.
• Candidates with a break in employment longer than 6 months may need to repeat orientation modules.
• Candidates must use a computer with Google Chrome to complete onboarding modules; modules cannot be completed on a phone.
• Candidates must comply with all health and safety requirements, including immunizations and fit testing.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required beyond the 18 months of specialty experience, but travel experience in Neuro Stepdown is acceptable.
