Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

Seeking an experienced Ultrasound Tech specializing in Maternal Fetal with skills in Radiology and Cardiology. This role involves working primarily in outpatient and high-risk OB settings.

Work Schedule

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM (45-minute meal break)
  • No call or weekend requirements
  • Float requirement applies
  • May be assigned to Storm/Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events or disasters

Work Setting

  • Outpatient clinics focusing on OB/GYN patients (level 1 OB scans and GYN scans)
  • Use of GE ultrasound equipment
  • Electronic Health Record system: EPIC
  • Scrubs: Not provided; any color acceptable

Required Skills & Experience

  • Valid Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography, including experience within the last year
  • Experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • ARDMS certification
  • ARDMS OB/GYN specialty certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Proof of highest earned degree relevant to the profession, supported by an official transcript or diploma, or verification of High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients and High Risk patients
  • Experience in an outpatient setting, specifically with GE ultrasound equipment
  • Proficient in the following ultrasound skills:
    • Appendix
    • Breast
    • Gallbladder
    • Pediatric Abdomen/Pelvis
    • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Trimester OB/GYN scans
  • High Risk OB experience

Preferred Skills

  • OB/GYN Nuchal Translucency Screen
  • Additional certifications such as ARDMS FE, NT are a plus

Required Certifications

  • ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
  • ARDMS OB/GYN specialty
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Additional Requirements

  • Background checks including local, federal, and national criminal databases, education verification, and state-specific registry checks
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (updated annually if past positive TB)
  • Fit testing for N95 mask or completion of PAPR training (not required for non-clinical)
  • Negative drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Immunization and titer requirements including Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation and compliance training modules
  • May be required to complete medication safety and other competency exams as applicable

  • Must be prepared to work in a dynamic environment with potential reassignment during emergencies
  • Scrubs are not provided; bring your own in any color
