Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)

Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in a specialty hospital focused on neuro and cardiac patient care coordination.
  • Facility is a comprehensive stroke center.
  • Role involves inpatient/acute care and case management.
  • Must have prior hospital experience.
  • Floating may be required to other nearby campuses if census is low.
  • Weekend coverage required: minimum 2 weekend days per month (typically 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday, not the same weekend).
  • Epic electronic health record experience is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of case management experience, including acute hospital case management
  • Case management experience within the last year
  • Experience in an inpatient setting
  • Acute care experience
  • Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or competency
  • NURSYS verification

Certifications (as applicable)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
  • Other certifications may be required based on clinical track and specialty (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification).

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity for MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Flu, and COVID-19 (or documented declinations).
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
  • Background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, updated annually.
  • Education verification and employment application covering at least the last 5 years.
  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years.
  • Competency exams and skills checklists as applicable.
  • Completion of required WorkRamp modules (regulatory, specialty, and regional) prior to start and annually.
  • Respirator fit testing and clearance required for travel candidates.
  • Compliance with Washington state-specific background and registry checks.

Additional Information

  • Floating policy acknowledgment required.
  • Candidates may be floated to other campuses within reasonable distance.
  • Weekend coverage is mandatory.
  • Travel candidates must complete Epic training modules and provide transcripts.
  • Regulatory and specialty-specific training modules must be completed annually.
  • Physical and health documentation must be current and compliant with facility and state requirements.
