Description

Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Bowling Green, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit Type: Telemetry
Number of Beds: 36
Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 with cath recovery, up to 6:1 max ratio, occasionally stretched to 7:1
Staffing: Unit secretaries and techs available; PCTs on day and night shifts; Unit clerks on day shift
Equipment: Remote telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling: Every other weekend required
Floating Policy: Agency staff float first; may float to Ortho/Med-Surg units
Patient Experience Goal: Strive for 75% patient satisfaction rate

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Information

Dress Code: Any scrubs except camouflage
Unit Policies: Includes telemetry monitoring and stroke policies
Recognition: Unit staff have received Daisy and Bee awards; monthly STAR award voted by staff
