Description

Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Bowling Green, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Telemetry
  • Number of Beds: 36
  • Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 with cath recovery, up to 6:1 max ratio, occasionally stretched to 7:1
  • Staffing: Unit secretaries and techs available; PCTs on day and night shifts; Unit clerks on day shift
  • Equipment: Remote telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps
  • Documentation System: Meditech
  • Scheduling: Every other weekend required
  • Floating Policy: Agency staff float first; may float to Ortho/Med-Surg units
  • Patient Experience Goal: Strive for 75% patient satisfaction rate

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Information

  • Dress Code: Any scrubs except camouflage
  • Unit Policies: Includes telemetry monitoring and stroke policies
  • Recognition: Unit staff have received Daisy and Bee awards; monthly STAR award voted by staff
