Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work setting includes High Risk OB & Outpatient GE clinics.
  • Perform general ultrasound exams including:
    • Abdominal Aorta, Appendix, Breast, Gallbladder, Liver, Pancreas, Pediatric Abdomen/Pelvis, Spleen
  • OB/GYN ultrasound skills required for 1st, 2nd & 3rd trimester, amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, and placenta previa.
  • Neonatal ultrasound skills including bone lengths, cerebellum, ventricles, head, and heart.
  • Renal/Pelvis ultrasound skills including bladder, hernia, ovaries, prostate, renal/bladder, uterus, and vaginal.
  • Small parts ultrasound skills including breast cyst aspiration, breast ultrasound, superficial masses, testicles/scrotum, and thyroid.
  • Preferred additional OB/GYN skill: Nuchal Translucency Screen.

Shift:

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM with a 45-minute meal break.
  • No call or weekend requirements.
  • Float requirement applies.

Special Procedures/Unit Details:

  • Level 1 OB scans and GYN scans.
  • Must be a registered diagnostic medical sonographer.

Equipment:

  • GE ultrasound equipment required.

Systems:

  • EPIC electronic health record system used.

Scheduling:

  • Per clinic needs.

Scrubs:

  • Not provided; any color acceptable.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Ultrasound Technologist license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of ultrasound technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ARDMS certification required, including ARDMS OB/GYN
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Experience in an outpatient setting, specifically with Outpatient GE clinics
  • Experience with High Risk OB ultrasound procedures
  • Proficient in general ultrasound exams including Appendix and Breast
  • Skilled in OB/GYN ultrasound for 1st trimester, 2nd trimester, amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, and placenta previa
  • Neonatal ultrasound skills including bone lengths and cerebellum
  • First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required)
