Job Opportunity: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Outpatient Neurology Clinic

Location: Olympia, Washington
Employment Type: Travel / Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks


Job Description

  • Position is for an LPN in an outpatient neurology clinic, primarily day shift (08:30 AM – 5:00 PM) with possible slight fluctuations in start/end times depending on patient scheduling. Flexibility and support to accommodate this are required.
  • The clinic treats a variety of neurological conditions including traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, cerebrovascular accident (CVA), and substance abuse.
  • Experience working with neurological patient populations is highly preferred.
  • The role requires a well-rounded, patient, and understanding nurse familiar with neurological illnesses.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage Epic nurse inboxes and work queues.
  • Triage and respond to patient phone calls and electronic messages.
  • Process medication refill requests and route for provider signature.
  • Manage and coordinate lab and imaging orders and results.
  • Support high acuity neurology patients, including infusion-related coordination.
  • Transcribe and document voicemail messages into Epic.
  • Process inbound clinical faxes requiring provider review or signature.
  • Abstract and enter lab results, including genetic testing.
  • Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Support patient safety and continuity of care across assigned providers.

Schedule

  • 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
  • No weekends required
  • No on-call required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in Washington State
  • Minimum 3 years of clinic experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in outpatient and clinic settings, specifically adult outpatient clinics
  • Experience working with neurological patient populations
  • Proficient with Epic electronic health record system
  • Current BLS certification

Additional Information

  • This is a locals-only position.
  • Facility uses EPIC for charting.
  • Parking is provided by the facility.
