Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) - Operating Room
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Surgical unit with 5 operating rooms
- Current staffing includes full-time and part-time RNs and surgical techs
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- Equipment: Basic OR equipment including cautery, video monitors, arthroscopy, and positioning equipment
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
- Call schedule: Approximately 5-6 call days per month with rotating weekends
- Shift coverage includes day and evening shifts with on-call responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with at least 1 year of experience
- Experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist within the last year
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the Operating Room (CST/ORT - OR)
- OR circulator experience required
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Ability to fulfill rotating call schedule:
- At least one night per week
- One weekend per 5-week schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in orthopedic, general, gynecology, robotics, urology, vascular, cardiovascular, neuro, or thoracic surgical procedures
Work Environment & Culture
- Flexible, caring, compassionate, and willing attitude preferred
- Scrub attire provided by the facility
- No floating to other units
