Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse

Location: Mayfield Heights, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for a travel contract position in Ohio. The role requires providing nursing care in a medical-surgical/telemetry setting.


Required Qualifications

  • License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Ohio.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry).
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or American Red Cross; RQI acceptable.
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for this specialty.
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Preferred but not required.
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required only if assigned to L&D, OB/GYN, or NICU (not required here).
  • Background Checks: Must pass comprehensive background checks including FBI and BCI fingerprinting, updated annually.
  • Health Requirements:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to perform essential job functions.
    • Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months, updated annually.
    • Immunizations: Tdap (every 10 years), MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine (seasonal).
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
    • Drug screening (10-panel) within 12 months.
    • Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year.
  • References: Two professional references from employment within the last year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director).
  • Application: Must include at least 3 years of prior work history with 2 years in acute care and similar specialty.

Additional Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) must be carried during assignment.
  • Completion of facility-specific onboarding modules prior to start.
  • Pass/fail competency exams on medication administration and ECG interpretation (not required for OR nurses).
  • Annual skills checklist.
  • Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; results required before extension.
  • Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending but must complete prior to start.
  • Physical exam and eye exam do not need to be updated if currently on assignment without a break longer than 30 days.
  • Flu vaccine documentation required by November 30th for current candidates; no declinations accepted.
  • Medical and religious exemptions for vaccines require agency approval and facility review.

Preferred (Not Required)

  • CNOR certification (for OR nurses only).
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) for ER nurses.
  • Chemotherapy certification (not required for oncology specialty).

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • Candidates must complete all onboarding modules on a computer using Google Chrome.
  • Candidates with name changes must have legal name updated in system prior to start.
  • Candidates with latex allergies should notify to ensure appropriate supplies are available.
