Description

Registered Nurse - OR

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) unit. The role involves working in a surgical environment with a variety of procedures including liver, kidney, kidney pancreas transplants, general surgery, robotics, bariatric surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, and plastic surgery.


Shift Details

  • Shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Weekend and call requirements to be discussed during the interview
  • Floating required as per unit policy

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Minimum 2 years of hospital experience
  • One completed travel assignment
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Meditech documentation system
  • Experience with robotics, urology, general surgery, bariatric surgery

Unit Guidelines and Policies

  • Floating as needed
  • Dress Code:
    • Navy scrub top and pants, navy or white scrub jacket for RNs
    • Clean and healthy nails
    • Neat and clean hair, no extreme styles or colors
    • Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed
    • Body art should be covered whenever possible; uncovered body art addressed individually
    • Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be prepared to float within the facility as per the floating policy
  • Documentation system used: Meditech
