Description

Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel/Contract)

Location: Tyler, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Unit: Medical-Surgical ICU
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Number of Beds: 16
Years of Experience Required: 2 years
Travel Experience: Preferred (unit prefers travel experience)

Required Certifications

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
NIHSS* (as applicable)
PALS* (Pediatric Advanced Life Support, as applicable)

*Other certifications such as NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, CPI, MAB, and NIH Stroke Certification may be required as applicable.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience in a Medical-Surgical ICU, with ICU experience within the last year
ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Certifications as applicable: NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), NIHSS, CPI
Ability to work night shifts (3x12 hour)
Compliance with all required background checks and verifications
Completion of unit-specific skills checklist annually

Health & Safety Requirements

Physical exam within 12 months of start
Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
Required immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season

Background & Documentation Requirements

7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
Education verification (highest level)
Work history verification for the past 7 years
Professional references (internal requirement)
Valid driver’s license or state ID
Completion of employment application/resume submission

Scrub color: Charcoal Grey
Candidates residing in certain counties in Texas are not eligible for travel contracts in this location.
Fingerprinting and other onboarding requirements may apply depending on state and facility policies.
