Description

Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech

Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 4x10 Night shifts, 9:30 PM – 7:30 AM, Wednesday through Saturday
Weekend/On Call Requirements: No call required
Travel Requirements:

  • Must be located more than 75 miles from the facility (locals accepted if outside this radius)
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Flex agency 3 times during the contract

Required Qualifications

  • License: Must have a valid license as an X-Ray Tech upon start
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Radiology / Cardiology specialty (X-Ray Tech)
  • Certifications:
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider/instructor/RQI accepted
  • Charting: EPIC experience required

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • 7-year criminal background check (including felony checks) within 3 months of start
  • SSN trace, national criminal, sex offender, education verification from primary source
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. as per Immigration and Control Act
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 3 months of start and run monthly
  • Foreign education equivalency evaluation if applicable
  • Transcript/diploma and education verification required if no prior verification on file

Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as required by unit
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as required by unit
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as required by unit
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as required by unit
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) as required by unit
  • National tech certification verification as required within 30 days of start
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
  • Primary source state license verification within 30 days of start
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as required
  • Color blind testing required (not annual)
  • Competency exams as required by specialty

Health and Immunization Requirements

Candidates must complete health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (updated annually)
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; TB questionnaire accepted in lieu of annual renewal
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive titer, completed series, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start (not annual)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
  • Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start (not annual)
  • COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

  • Clear, passport-style photo with solid background for badge
  • References: 2 references within 3 years required for agency candidates
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Work history verification of at least 2 past employments required for agency candidates
  • State-specific documents and checks as applicable (e.g., NYS Nurse Aide Registry, fingerprinting, disciplinary action search, sex offender registry, Medicaid exclusion list)
