Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location: Rochester, New York

Job Details

• Specialty: Nuclear Medicine
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 5x8 hour shifts
• Start Times: Variable between 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM or 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM (flexible)
• Weekends: None
• On-call: None
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Charting System: EPIC experience required
• Coverage: Primarily Nuclear Cardiology department with cross coverage at a secondary site
• Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted
• Local Candidates: Must live more than 75 miles from the facility

Required Qualifications

• Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in New York
• Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• NMTCB certification
• BLS certification
• Experience with EPIC charting system

Required Certifications (as applicable)

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI accepted, as required by unit
• Other certifications may be required based on unit description (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check within 3 months of start (including felony checks)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 3 months of start and updated monthly
• Education verification from primary source required (transcripts/diplomas if no verification on file)
• Foreign equivalency evaluation required if education was obtained internationally
• Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, opiates, etc.)
• Photo for badge (passport-style with solid background) required

Health Requirements

Candidates must complete health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract:

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• TB questionnaire in lieu of annual TB test renewal
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
• Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

• References: 2 references within 3 years required (for direct applicants)
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Work history verification of at least 2 past employments required
• State-specific checks including sex offender registry and Medicaid exclusion list within required timeframes

Notes

• Candidate will cover two sites with primary focus on nuclear cardiology
• Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
• Parking pass form required for facility access during orientation
