Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Nights

Location: La Plata, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: April 20, 2026
Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), every other weekend required, holidays as scheduled
Hours: 36 hours every other week

Job Description

• Provide respiratory care across all patient populations: neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Manage a variety of diagnoses requiring respiratory support throughout the facility
• Floating required within the respiratory specialty, including all settings where respiratory support is needed
• No on-call required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), including experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Patient Population

• Neonates
• Pediatrics
• Adults
• Geriatrics

Additional Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and state-specific exclusions
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit testing for N95 respirators within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • TB testing (negative test or chest x-ray as applicable)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for units working with children)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination proof)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted)
  • Varicella (positive titer or vaccination proof)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• Negative drug screen within 30 days prior to start
• Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
• Employment history verification for the past 5 years

Work Environment

• Floating within respiratory specialty units as needed
• Weekend and holiday shifts required as scheduled

• Candidates must complete facility-specific confidentiality, compliance, and computer system agreements prior to start
• Time-sensitive documentation and training may be required before or shortly after start date
