Description
Job Opportunity: Therapist - Cardiopulmonary and Sleep Services
Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
Employment Type: Traveler - Backfill
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide therapeutic care to all patient populations within the cardiopulmonary and sleep services specialty.
- Review and maintain patient care plans; perform evaluations and adjust care as needed.
- Participate in a team approach for delivery of distressed newborns, high-risk deliveries, and attend C-sections.
- Utilize respiratory care equipment including Servo ventilators, BIPAP (V-60, Vision), Airvo, MetNeb, Neo-Tee.
- Use Epic EMR system for computerized charting and medication/supply scanning.
- Work schedule includes every other weekend; call is voluntary.
- No floating to other units/departments.
- Dress code: Black scrubs.
- Orientation includes up to 3 weeks of department-specific training and Epic EMR training with preceptor check-off.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Credentialed Respiratory Care Practitioner preferred.
- Adult intubation skills required.
- Experience with high-risk infant deliveries and C-sections required.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through AHA
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through AHA
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Additional Information
- Will not work alone.
- Unit has 12 ICU beds within a 250-bed hospital.
