Job Details

• Orientation: Department-specific orientation typically during the first week; 10-hour shifts with start times at 6:30 AM, 9:00 AM, or 10:30 AM; includes weekend and call rotation during orientation only

Job Duties

• Routine MRI imaging including stroke and trauma cases
• Patient transport and preparation
• Safety screening
• Scanning procedures
• Starting IVs
• Clerical duties and EMR navigation/documentation

Equipment & Systems

• MRI Scanners: 2 rooms, GE equipment
• EMR System: Epic
• PACS System: McKesson
• Radiologist: In-house coverage except after hours
• No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRA) on staff
• No floating or coverage of other areas required

Required Qualifications

• Certification: BLS (AHA), Certified MRI Technologist - ARRT (MR)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years MRI experience required; MRI certification mandatory
• Preferred Experience: Experience with GE MRI equipment preferred
• Licensure: Active Illinois license or confirmation that application process has been initiated
• Must comply with drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Additional Information

• Scrub color: Any professional color scrubs allowed; scrubs are not provided
• Dress code: Tattoos must be covered; no body piercings except earrings
• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius

• No floating to other departments
• Average scans per day: 25-30
• Must be able to start IVs as part of job duties
