Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Antepartum Unit (APU)
- Number of Beds: 12
- Staff: 9 RNs, 2 new grads in orientation, 1 nurse educator
- Shifts:
- Day Shift: 2 RNs, 1 nurse educator (if available)
- Night Shift: 2 RNs
- Patient Ratios: 3-4 patients per RN
- Equipment: Baxter IV Pumps, GE Fetal Monitoring
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR): CPN, Meditech
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- IFM (Inpatient Fetal Monitoring)
- AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
Required License
- Registered Nurse (RN) License in Texas
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Labor & Delivery specialty
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CPN and Meditech EMR systems
- Prior Labor & Delivery experience

- Routine patient assessments
- Fetal monitoring
- Vital signs monitoring
- Finger sticks
Work Environment & Expectations
- Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs
- Weekend shifts required (approximately 4 per 4-week schedule)
- Floating areas include Labor & Delivery and Postpartum care (Postpartum care limited to postpartum mothers only)

Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Current IFM (Inpatient Fetal Monitoring) certification
- Membership or certification with AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
