Job Summary

Seeking a Respiratory Therapist with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience for a travel contract position. The role primarily involves working in Labor & Delivery (L&D) and NICU settings, with some floating to Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Pediatric Acute Care as needed. The schedule is 3 shifts of 12 hours each, with every other weekend required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NBRC RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• Experience working with Pediatric patients
• Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
• Children's Hospital experience within the last 3 years
• NICU or PICU experience

Important Notes

• Indiana licensed RNs are restricted from working at this facility effective 11/30/24, with exceptions for Perioperative/OR and certain allied health travelers.
• Candidates must provide written confirmation of comfort with the every other weekend schedule before submission.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy).
• Background checks including 7-year history, SSN trace, criminal, sex offender, and education verification.
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months.
• Physical exam within 12 months of start date.
• Fit test for approved respirators within 12 months.
• Immunizations and titers:

  • TB test within 1 year (PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-SPOT)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted.
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted.
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required.
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap preferred but not required.
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season.
• Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and unit-specific competency.
• Completion of mandatory facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (21 modules for RRTs).
• References: Minimum 2 from recent employment within 2 years, with appropriate supervisory titles.
• Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps over 30 days.

Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12's)
• Every other weekend required
