Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - MS/Tele
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work 36 hours per week, night shift (18:30 - 07:00)
- Unit requires telemetry skills (MS/Tele)
- Patient population includes gender affirmation surgery patients (comfort preferred, experience not required)
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend
- Holiday requirement: work 2 out of 3 winter holidays and other holidays during contract
- No on-call requirements
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 or 1:6
- Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- May come into contact with COVID-19 patients
- Scrubs not provided; color: Navy Blue
- Cerner experience preferred
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Maryland
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Telemetry (MS/Tele) nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
- Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function
- Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with additional requirements if history of TB
- Immunization or titer documentation for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, and seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption
- Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
Shift Details
- Night shift: 18:30 to 07:00
- Weekend and holiday coverage as noted above
Notes
- Candidates must be comfortable working with diverse patient populations, including those undergoing gender affirmation surgery
- Must be willing to float to other units of similar or lower acuity
- Facility requires strict adherence to vaccination policies, including flu vaccine
- Scrubs color: Navy Blue (not provided)
