Job Opportunity: Electrophysiology Tech
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
This position is for a Procedural Radiologic Technologist specializing in Electrophysiology (EP Lab). The role involves assisting Electrophysiologists with non-invasive and invasive procedures in a fast-paced electrophysiology lab. Technologists scrub approximately 80% of cases, with an average of 20 cases per day across 4 procedural labs.
Work Schedule
- Shift: Four 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- No weekends required
- Work every other holiday
- Call: Two weeknight calls per pay period (5:30 PM – 7:30 PM) and weekend call (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM) for up to 4 weekends per assignment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Electrophysiology (EP) Radiologic Technologist
- Electrophysiology Technician experience within the last year
- Intraprocedural radiographic technologist experience
- Competency as an assistant to the Electrophysiologist for non-invasive and invasive procedures
- Knowledge of X-ray equipment used in electrophysiology lab procedures
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
Certifications & Licenses
- ARRT certification required
- Ohio Radiologic State License required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
Additional Requirements
- Traveler’s permanent address must be more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel assignment
- Must pass a 7-year background check including SS trace, county searches, nationwide criminal search, sex offender search, and sanctions screening
- Negative 9 or 10 panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 2 years indicating clearance to work
- Respirator fit test documentation within 1 year (if applicable)
- Required immunizations and titers including TB test, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, and seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption
- Completion of competency exams including medication test, color blindness test, and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam as applicable
Job Responsibilities
- Assist Electrophysiologists during EP lab procedures
- Operate and have knowledge of X-ray equipment used in EP lab
- Monitor arrhythmias and understand cardiac anatomy
- Maintain sterile technique during procedures
