Dietician - Nutrition (Travel Contract)

Location: El Paso, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Employment Type: Travel


Job Description

Seeking a Clinical Dietitian for a 13-week travel assignment. The role involves providing nutrition care with a focus on adult and geriatric patients. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including MDs, RNs, Speech-Language Pathologists, Diabetes Educators, and Case Managers.


Unit Information

  • Number of Beds: 350
  • Staffing: 4 Full-Time Registered Dietitians in the department (2 full-time positions currently open)
  • Patient Load: Average 10-15 patients per day
  • Shift Coverage: Day shift only (no night shift)
  • Communication Tools: iPhones for team communication
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
  • Permanent Positions: Available on the unit

Typical Procedures & Responsibilities

  • Nutrition-focused physical exams
  • Nutrition consults with reflex orders for wound care patients
  • Order-writing privileges for oral supplements, diet modifications, and enteral nutrition adjustments after physician orders

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Critical care experience
  • Experience with adult and geriatric populations
  • NICU experience is a plus (to support NICU RD during PTO)
  • Collaborative and flexible approach to patient coverage across the facility

Dress Code

  • Olive green scrubs (moss color in FIGS brand)
  • Specific attire guidelines apply

Additional Information

  • Use of mobile communication app for timely nutrition recommendations
  • Experienced team members with 10+ years tenure on site
  • RD office located outside of Dietary department

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in Texas
  • Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the state of Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) within the last year
  • Experience working with adult and geriatric patients
  • Critical care experience

  • Weekends: As needed
