Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Job Description
- Shift: 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, Weekend Nights (18:30–07:00)
- Holiday coverage expected
- Work within 60 miles of facility (local rate area)
Responsibilities
- Airway management and suctioning (endotracheal tube, extubation, nasal/oral airway placement and suctioning, tracheostomy suctioning)
- Pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection
- Arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation and drawing
- Use and troubleshooting of ventilators including Draeger V500, Servo U
- Administer respiratory medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, and others
- Manage high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPAP, CPAP, and trach collar
- Assist in weaning from mechanical ventilation and high-risk deliveries
- Use of electronic health record system (Cerner) preferred
- Skills in bronchoscopy, inhaled Flolan, ketamine, nitric oxide, and other advanced therapies are a plus
Required Qualifications
- License: Maryland State Respiratory Therapist licensure (RRT)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as an RRT in Adult Critical Care
- Prior Travel Experience: At least 1 prior travel assignment completed
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
- Preferred: Emergency Department (ED) experience
Additional Requirements
- Flu vaccine required annually
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations
- N95 fit test within 9 months of start, updated annually
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and competency exams
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps

- Short-term acute care, teaching hospital setting
- Total staffed beds: 338
- Charting system: Cerner
- Scrub color: ceil blue (scrubs not provided)
Special Equipment Used
- Ventilators: Draeger V500, Servo U
- Respiratory therapy devices: Aerosol masks, nebulizers, metered dose inhalers, high flow nasal cannula, BiPAP, CPAP
