Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Job Description

• May float to units with similar acuity.
• Focus on postpartum care, mother-baby, and couplet care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 2 years of maternal-newborn experience, including at least 2 years of postpartum nursing experience.
• Maternal-newborn experience within the last year.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification.
• IV start skills and labor & delivery (L&D) experience.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred but not required.

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required for L&D, postpartum, and OB units.
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit assignment.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required for ER and related units if applicable.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam within 1 year of start and updated annually (exceptions apply).
• NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit.

Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required prior to start.
• Unit-specific competency exams required.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Monthly monitoring through workforce systems for EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending at start.
• Annual review and acknowledgment of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies.
• Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually.

• Fingerprinting must be completed at approved locations; results typically take 1-2 weeks.
• New fingerprinting required if there is a break in service of 90+ days or if previous results are older than 1 year.
• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation requirements.

This position is ideal for experienced postpartum RNs with strong clinical skills in mother-baby care and labor & delivery, who are comfortable working in a travel/contract role in Ohio.
