Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours, 1900-0700 (overnight)
- Setting: General Emergency Department with combined adult and pediatric patients
- Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Skills Required: Triage, IV starts, and phlebotomy
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including combined adult and pediatric patient care
- Emergency Department experience within the last year
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Skills in IV starts
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as required
Additional Information
- Two positive supervisory references required, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
- Must be able to work overnight shifts and meet scheduling requirements
- Candidates must complete all required attestations and background verifications prior to start
This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic emergency department environment with both adult and pediatric patients, requiring strong clinical skills and certifications. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
