Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Mayfield Heights, Ohio

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Provide critical care nursing in an ICU setting
• Must have a minimum of 18 months recent Critical Care/ICU experience
• Must have 18 months permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel assignments

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 18 months of recent Critical Care/ICU experience, including ICU experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• CST (Certification in Stroke Therapy)

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS and ACLS certifications must be current and renewed if expiring within 30 days of start
• NIH Stroke Certification must be current and renewed if expiring within 30 days of start
• Medication administration and ECG competency exams required at orientation
• Additional certifications preferred but not required:

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) for RNFAs (not required)

Orientation & Training

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Orientation includes medication and ECG competency testing
• SafeMedicate exam prep materials provided before orientation
• Photo ID required for badge issuance

Additional Notes

• Candidates must carry a government-issued photo ID during assignment
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; facility will also conduct fingerprinting onsite
• Candidates can start with fingerprint results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
• Candidates with gaps longer than 6 months since last assignment at this facility may need to retake orientation modules and competency exams
• Candidates must use their legal name consistently on all documentation and onboarding systems

Experience Requirements

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 18 months in Critical Care/ICU (permanent experience prior to travel assignments)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
