Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) Registered Nurse
- Shift: 7 PM to 7:30 AM (3x12 hour shifts)
- Schedule: Every other 3rd weekend required
- Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a different rate
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- SPT (Stroke Preparedness Training)
- Must pass the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam
Requirements & Compliance
- Criminal background check within 90 days, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- N95 Fit Mask test within 9 months of start, updated annually
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
Additional Information
- Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams required within 3 years of start, with minimum passing score of 80%
- Color blindness testing required (online or in-person)
- Annual competency exams and safety manual acknowledgements required
- Facility-specific photo for badge required (clear, well-lit, no glare, solid background)
