Description

Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse provides clinical care tailored to the patient population on assigned units. Responsibilities include coordinating and implementing patient care while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency consistent with unit standards. The nurse demonstrates professionalism, effective communication, and respect toward staff, physicians, patients, and families.

Work Environment

Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
EMR system used: EPIC
Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases
Clean, well-lit, ventilated, smoke-free environment
Physically demanding: prolonged standing/walking, patient positioning, reaching, bending, and manual dexterity required
Flexible working hours with potential for schedule changes and emergencies

Requirements

Education

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Licenses & Certifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
BLS Certification

Experience

Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience
Med Surg experience within the last year
