Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) (Nights)

Location: Lima, Ohio

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for the care of assigned patients during their shift. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria. Clinical judgments are made based on scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN also assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, Patient Care Technicians (PCT), and Unit Secretaries.

Travelers are expected and required to float to all units within their scope of practice and skill set. Refusal to float may result in being sent home without pay for the entire work week.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience (required)
• Immediate Open Heart Recovery experience (required)
• Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license (required)
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification (required)
• Active NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (required)
• Skills checklist current to within 1 year, pertinent to ICU specialty (required)

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification (highly preferred)

• Must be willing to float to all units within skill level
• Nonbillable hours: 8 hours

• Scrub color: Navy Blue
