Job Opportunity: RN - Float (Travel)

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a clinical practitioner responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care tailored to the age of the patient population on assigned units. The RN ensures quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards. The role requires professionalism, respect for staff, physicians, patients, and families, and adherence to the mission and goals of the unit and organization.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Mexico
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry experience within the last year
• Float experience
• BLS Certification required

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases (varies by unit)
• Clean, well-lighted, ventilated, smoke-free environment
• Subject to stressful professional relationships and variable working hours due to emergencies or schedule changes
• Physical demands include:

  • Handling emergency/crisis situations
  • Prolonged standing and walking
  • Heavy physical effort for positioning, pushing, or transferring patients or equipment
  • Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
  • Good visual and hearing acuity (normal or correctable)
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination

Reports to Patient Care Director or Manager
