Radiology Tech

Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging examinations.
  • Explain procedures and respond to patient questions.
  • Perform diagnostic radiological procedures as ordered by physicians.
  • Assist Radiologist and/or Fluoro Tech during fluoroscopic and special procedures.
  • Operate CR, Fluoro, and DR imaging equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Move portable radiographic equipment within various hospital departments including Emergency, Operating Room, PACU, and Nursing.
  • Use proper sterile technique during procedures in the Operating Room and Radiology department.
  • Prepare and administer IV and oral contrast media; manage contrast reactions and documentation.
  • Document patient symptoms, history, imaging limitations, and study details in PACS.
  • Maintain radiation safety practices consistent with ALARA standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff.
  • Perform clerical duties related to workflow monitoring, quality assurance, and office tasks as needed.
  • Assist with training radiology students on policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT®) certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Radiology Technician experience within the last year.

Additional Information

  • Must demonstrate appropriate radiation safety practices.
  • Ability to work evenings as indicated by the original shift title.
