Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Labor & Delivery / Antepartum
- Beds: 19 labor, 5 OBED, 3 PACU, 3 Surgical, 8 Antepartum
- Staff: 55 total
- Day Shift: 1 charge, 2 OBED, 3 OR, 2-3 Antepartum, 10 labor
- Night Shift: 1 charge, 2 OBED, 2-3 Antepartum, 10 labor
- Patient Ratios:
- Labor: 2:1
- OBED: 3:1
- Antepartum: 4:1
- OR: 1:1
- EMR Systems: CPN and Meditech
- Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs, no t-shirts
Required Skills
- OBED experience
- Circulating in C-Sections
- Ability to manage high-risk Antepartum patients
- Labor experience
- Experience managing COVID patients in labor, C-Section, Antepartum, and OBED settings
Preferred Skills
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring (FM)
Typical Procedures
- C-Sections
- Cerclage
- Bilateral Tubal Ligation (BTL)
- Dilation & Curettage (D&C) for postpartum hemorrhage only
Work Schedule
- Mandatory 2 weekend shifts per month
- Possibly up to 4 weekend shifts per month
- No on-call required
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year
- Experience working with high-risk patients
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (FM)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
